天漢 已向立而 戀等尓 事谷将告 攦言及者

よみ

天の川 い向ひ立ちて 恋しらに 言(こと)だに告げむ 妻と言ふまでは[妻問うまでは]

- Amanogaha Imukahi tachite Kohi shirani Koto dani tsugemu Tsuma to ifu madeha[Tsumatofu madeha].

意味

天の川に向かって立って恋しくてたまらないので、せめて言葉だけでも届けたい。妻に逢うまでは。

- rough meaning: Standing facing the Milky Way, I yearn for her terribly, and at the very least, I want to send her my feelings through words. Until I see my wife again.
