太藺草(おおいぐさ) Ooi-gusa(Bulrush)

太藺草(おおいぐさ)はカヤツリグサ科フトイ属の多年草の太藺(ふとい)のことです。日本各地の池や沼に群生する水草です。夏から秋にかけて茎の先端に卵形の小さな穂をつけます。太藺(ふとい)という名は、茎が太くて藺草(いぐさ)に似ているからだそうです。
