虹(にじ)
雨上がりに太陽を背にして、虹を見ることがあります。私たちは、太陽の光が雨粒で反射するときに、波長の違いで屈折率が異なることで虹を見ることができることを知っていますが、昔の人はどう思ったのでしょう。
- After the rain, we can see a rainbow with our back to the sun. We know that when the sun's rays are reflected by raindrops, we can see the rainbow by the difference in the refractive index due to the difference in wavelength. But what did Manyo people think why the rainbow appear?
