芹(せり) Seri(Japanese parsley)
芹(せり)はセリ科セリ属の多年草です。日本原産で、７～８月頃に水田や小川近くの湿地に小さな白い花を咲かせます。現在でも春の七草のひとつとしてよく知られています。古代から春の菜として、食用にされてきました。
- Seri is a perennial plant belonging to the genus Seri of the Umbelliferae family(parsley family). It is native to Japan and blooms small white flowers in wetlands near paddy fields and streams from July to August. It is well known as one of the seven spring herbs. It has been edible as a spring vegetable since ancient times.
