都萬麻(つまま) Tsumama(Machilus)
都萬麻(つまま)は、クスノキ科タブノキ属の常緑高木の椨(たぶのき)のことです。本州・四国・九州・沖縄などの沿岸で見る事ができます。高さは、３０メートルくらいまでのものもあります。葉には光沢があります。５～６月頃に枝先に淡い黄緑色の花が咲きます。
- Tsumama is thought to be Tabunoki(Machilus) from the Lauraceae family. You can see it on the coast such as Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Okinawa in Japan. Some are up to 30 meters high. The leaves are shiny and evergreen. Pale yellow-green flowers bloom on the branches at the end of May to June.
