勝間田(かつまた)の池 Katsumata-no-Ike(Pnod of Katsumata)

勝間田(かつまた)の池がどこなのか、はっきりとはしていませんが、奈良の薬師寺の西にある「七条大池」とされています。また、勝間田(かつまた)の池を詠んだ歌に関わる新田部皇子(にいたべのみこ:天武天皇の皇子)が唐招提寺(とうしょうだいじ)がある地に住んでいたので、そのあたりにあった池とも考えられています。

- It is not clear where the pond of Katsumada is, but it is said to be "Shichijo Oike" in the west of Yakushiji Temple in Nara. Also, since Prince Niitabe(one of the princes of Emperor Tenmu), who was involved the poem about the pond of Katsumata, lived in the area where Toshodaiji Temple is located, there is also a theory that it may be to be a pond near his mansion.
