筑波嶺乃 須蘇廻乃田井尓 秋田苅 妹許将遺 黄葉手折奈

筑波嶺(つくはね)の 裾廻(すそみ)の田居(たゐ)に 秋田刈る 妹(いも)がり遣らむ 黄葉(もみち)手折らな

- Tsukuhane no Susomi no tawye ni Akita karu Imogari yaramu Momichi taworana.

意味 Meaning

筑波山の裾の田で秋(あき)の稲(いね)を刈っているあの女性のもとへ、黄葉(もみじ)を手折って贈り届けましょう。

- rough meaning: I shall pluck a branch of autumn leaves and send it to the girl who is harvesting the autumn rice in the fields at the foot of Mt.Tsukuba.
