蜻蛉(あきづ) Akizu(Dragonfly)
トンボのことです。収穫の季節に飛び回る赤トンボは、田の神の使いとして考えられていたようです。トンボは、稲の収穫を示す絵とともに、銅鐸(どうたく)に描かれていることがありますよね。
- Akizu is a dragonfly. The red dragonfly that flies in the season of harvest seems to have been considered as a messenger of god of the rice fields. In rare cases, Dragonflies are drawn on Dotaku (a bell‐shaped bronze vessel of the Yayoi period) along with pictures showing the harvest of rice.
