Uzura(Japanese quail)

鶉 by 写真AC

- Uzura(Japanese quail) is a quail bird of the pheasant family, and is the smallest bird (about 20 cm) in the pheasant family. It lives in grasslands such as flatlands and mountains, and eats insects and grass seeds. It's written in the poem in "Kojiki(Japan's oldest historical record)", so it seems that it was popular in ancient Japan.

- The eggs of them that we eat today are shipped from Yojunjou(feeding ground of Japanese quail).
