平山乃 峯之黄葉 取者落 鍾礼能雨師 無間零良志

よみ

奈良山(ならやま)の 嶺(みね)の黄葉(もみちば) 取れば散る 時雨(しぐれ)の雨し 間(ま)なく降るらし

Narayama no mine no momichiba tore ba chiru shigure no ame shi ma naku furu rashi.

意味

奈良山の峰の黄葉(もみじ)を手に取ると散ってしまいます。時雨(しぐれ)の雨がひっきりなしに降るからでしょう。

・奈良山は現在の奈良市の北部一帯の丘陵地をいいます。

- rough meaning: When I pick up the yellow leaves on the peak of NaraYama, they scatter. It's probably because Shigure rains constantly.(Shigure is light rain that falls from the end of autumn to the beginning of winter. NaraYama refers to the hills in the northern part of current Nara City. )

この歌は、１５８１番歌の題詞にある、「橘朝臣奈良麻呂(たちばなのあそんならまろ)、集宴(しゅうえん)を結ぶ歌十一首」のひとつです。

この歌の左注には、「右一首、内舎人(うどねり:天皇の警護などをする官職)縣犬養宿祢吉男(あがたのいぬかいのすくねよしお)」とあります。
