妹目之 見巻欲家口 夕闇之 木葉隠有 月待如

妹(いも)が目の、見まく欲しけく、夕闇(ゆふやみ)の、木の葉(は)隠(ごも)れる、月(つき)待つごとし

意味

あの娘に逢いたいと思う気持ちは、夕闇に木の葉の陰からなかなか出てこない月(つき)を待つような気持ちです。

- rough meaning: My desire to meet that girl is as if I were waiting for the moon, which is hard to come out of the shade of the leaves of the tree in the dusk.
