久木(ひさぎ) Hisagi(Japanese mallotus)
ひさぎは、トウダイグサ科アカメガシワ属の落葉高木の赤芽柏(あかめわしわ)と考えられています。初春の新芽が赤くて美しいのが特徴です。また、昔はこの葉をカシワと同じように食物をのせるのに用いたことから「赤芽柏」の名がついたとのことです。
なお、ノウゼンカズラ科キササゲ属の木大角豆(きささげ)だという説もあります。
- Hisagi is considered Akamegashiwa(Japanese mallotus) of the deciduous tree of the genus Euphorbiaceae. The feature is that the sprout of early spring is red and beautiful. Also, in the ancient times, this leaf was used to put food in the same way as Kashiwa(Oak leaf used like dish) , so it was named "Akame Kashiwa".
