柘(つみ) Tsumi
柘(つみ)は、野桑(のぐわ)/山桑(やまぐわ)のこととされています。野生の桑で、クワ科クワ属の落葉高木です。桑は４月頃から花をつけ、６月頃から赤い実をつけます。実は、夏になると黒く熟して食べられるようになります。
・なお、柘(つみ)はヤマボウシのことという説もあります。
- Tsumi is said to be wild mulberry or mountain mulberry which is deciduous tree of the mulberry family. They start flowering around April and bear red berries around June. In fact, in the summer, they ripen black and become edible. There is also a theory that Tsumi means Japanese dogwood.
