袖垂而 伊射吾苑尓 鴬乃 木傳令落 梅花見尓

袖(そで)垂(た)れて いざ我が園(その)に 鴬(うぐひす)の 木伝(こづた)ひ散らす 梅(うめ)の花見(はなみ)に

- Sode tarete Iza waga sono ni Uguhisu no Kozutahi chirasu Ume no hanami ni.

意味 Meaning

袖を垂らして、さあ我が庭園にお出でください。鴬(うぐいす)が木々を伝って散らしてしまう梅(うめ)の花を見に。

・天平勝宝四年(西暦７５２年)の１１月２５日に平城宮(へいじょうきゅう)で行われた新嘗会(にいなえのまつり:天皇が新穀を神に供え、天皇自身も食する祭り)の後に催された宴で、孝謙天皇(こうけんてんのう)の詔(みことのり)に応(こた)えて詠まれた六首の歌のひとつです。

- rough meaning: Come on in our garden(public garden under the jurisdiction of the Chief Executive) with your sleeves hanging down. To see the Ume blossoms that are scattered by the Warbler flying from branch to branch.

- A banquet was held after the Ninae-no-Matsuri(a festival in which the Emperor offered fresh grain to the gods and the Emperor himself ate), which was held at Heijokyu Palace on November 25 in Tenpyo-shoho 4(752 A.D.). This poem is one of the six poems that were recited at the banquet in response to the edict by Empress Koken.

補足 Note

「廿五日(２５日)新甞會(にいなえのまつり)の肆宴(しえん)に詔(みことのり)に應(こた)ふる歌六首」と題された歌のひとつです。

この歌の左注には「右一首大和國守(やまとのくにのかみ:現在の奈良県知事のような行政長官)藤原永手朝臣(ふじわらのながてあそん)」とあります。
