可須美多都 春初乎 家布能其等 見牟登於毛倍波 多努之等曽毛布

霞(かすみ)立つ 春(はる)の初めを 今日のごと 見むと思へば 楽しとぞ思ふ

意味

霞(かすみ)の立つ春(はる)の初めに(毎年)今日のようにお会い出来ると思うと、楽しいことです。

・正月に大伴家持の邸宅に一族が集まり、祝宴を催した時に詠まれた歌です。

- rough meaning: It's really fun to think that I can meet you like today every year at the beginning of the spring when the haze is.

- This poem was sung when the Otomo family gathered at the mansion of Otomo-no-Yakamochi on 4th day of New Year in the 6th year of Tenpyo Shoho (754 AD) and held a feast.

補足

この歌を含む４２９８番歌の題詞には、「(天平勝宝)六年(西暦７５４年)正月四日氏の人等、少納言(しょうなごん)大伴宿祢家持(おおとものすくねやかもち)の宅に賀(ほ)き集いて宴飲する歌三首。」とあります。

この歌の左注には、「右一首、左京(さきょう)少進(しょうしん)大伴宿祢池主(おおとものすくねいけぬし)」とあります。
