朱華(はねず) Hanezu(Garden Plum)

朱華(はねず)はバラ科サクラ属の落葉低木の庭梅(にわうめ)と考えられています。３月～４月にかけて枝にびっしりと梅に似たピンクの花が咲きます。林鐘梅(りんしょうばい)とも言います。林鐘(りんしょう)というのは、陰暦で６月のことです。

- Hanezu is considered to be the garden plum of the deciduous shrub of the genus Rosaceae Prunus. Pink flowers resembling plum blossom bloom in the branches from March to April. It is also known as "RinShoubai" which means Plum of June.

朱華(はねず)を詠んだ歌 Poems including Hanezu

万葉集には４首に詠まれています。朱華(はねず)色に染色された衣服は、灰で洗濯すると色落ちがします。そのことから、「はねず色」は移ろいやすい心を導く枕詞(まくらことば)として使われるようになったと考えられます。

- There are four poems written about Hanezu in Manyoshu. Clothes dyed in "Hanezu-iro''(Hanezu color) will fade if washed with ash. For this reason, it is thought that "Hanezu-iro'' came to be used as a makurakotoba to guide a transient affection.

0657: 思はじと言ひてしものをはねず色のうつろひやすき我が心かも

1485: 夏まけて咲きたるはねずひさかたの雨うち降らば移ろひなむか

2786: 山吹のにほへる妹がはねず色の赤裳の姿夢に見えつつ

3074: はねず色のうつろひやすき心あれば年をぞ来経る言は絶えずて

補足:

・「はねず色」はクチナシと紅花で染めた色落ちしやすい染色であることから、「はねず」はクチナシではないかとの説もあります。

- Because the "hanezu color" is a dye made from gardenia and safflower that tends to fade easily, there is a theory that "hanezu" refers to gardenia.
